Day in the Life of a Seven-Year-Old

The Australian Power Institute (API) along with program partner The Australian Academy of Technology & Engineering (ATSE) have developed a STEM career awareness program for Year 2 students called Day in the Life of a Seven-Year-Old.

The API Day in the Life (DIL) program aims to extend the curiosity around STEM knowledge and skills through sparking awareness of how STEM careers impact the world immediately around a child’s day to day life.

The DIL Program is a resource kit to help teachers connect Year 2 students to the world of careers, life skills and STEM through 6x curriculum-linked modules that are delivered in the classroom (live or online).
Supported by the organisations behind Australia’s electricity networks, the DIL program also brings university students and industry professionals into your classroom to talk with your students, with the benefit a curriculum-aligned framework.
To date, 25 schools and 800+ students have experienced the program so far and we look forward to expanding to further schools.

VISION: To encourage curiosity in year 2 students in all schools across Australia by providing adaptable, practical and skills-based STEM related activities within their curriculum to raise awareness around future career pathways in STEM.
