Beyond the Lab is a webinar series for students in years 8 to 12 around Australia in which IMNIS Catalysts will share their non-traditional STEM Career Journeys.
Join IMNIS Catalysts Dr Malene Ahern & Dr Beatrice Chiew as they discuss their career journeys and their life Beyond the Lab
Malene is a physiotherapist with more than 20 years of experience in neurological, orthopaedic and geriatric rehabilitation. Since graduating from the University of Sydney, she has worked in Australia and the UK in both general practice and higher level care settings. Malene has recently been awarded her PhD at Macquarie University conducting research in the field of low back pain in primary care.
Beatrice completed her bachelor’s degree at the Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS) majoring in Medicinal Chemistry. She then went on to do her Honours and PhD discovering potent inhibitors or chemical blockers for use against HIV and BRCA-1 breast cancer.
Registrants will be sent a links and a worksheet related to the research prior to the session. Each session will include time for Q and A.
