STEM expo in Ontario

Whilst visiting Kingston Ontario, STELR’s Peter Pentland attended Science Rendezvous Kingston hosted by Queens University at the Leon’s Centre. The family event was held on Saturday 11 May and transformed the venue into a sort of pop-up science discovery centre with over 20 organisations attending including the Canadian Space agency, robotics teams and several departments of the university.

Peter said it was great to meet Caleigh Matheson from the GIRLS SySTEM mentorship program for girls in grades 7 – 12 eager to pursue STEM fields at the Science Rendezvous in Kingston Ontario (pictured above).

He also met with Liv Rondeau at the Indigenous STEM display presented by the Aboriginal Teacher Education Program at Queen’s University.
